Free, runs entirely in your browser — no sign-up, no file upload to a server.
What does the Image Compressor do?
It reduces the file size of a JPG, PNG, or WebP image by re-encoding it at an adjustable quality level, so you can shrink a photo for email or web use without changing its dimensions.
How do I use it?
Drop or select one image, drag the quality slider until the preview and resulting file size look right, then download the compressed file.
Which formats are supported?
You can drop in any image your browser can decode (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and more). The compressed output is saved back out as JPG, PNG, or WebP.
Can I compress multiple images at once?
This tool handles one image at a time. For batches, use the Universal Image Converter, which accepts multiple files and downloads them as a ZIP.
Where is my image processed?
Entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. The file is never uploaded to a server.
What should I do if compression fails or the result looks wrong?
Try a different quality level, or confirm the source file isn't corrupted by opening it in another app first.
How do I report a problem or request a feature for this tool?
